The beef short ribs were outstanding!!! The TeaRoom doesn’t fail to provide quality AND quantity.  We chose Agnes/the Tea Room as our caterer because it was important for us to have excellent, local, and mostly vegetarian food for our wedding.  As vegetarians, we’ve eaten a lot of pretty sucky food at weddings so we really wanted someone who could do it well.
Agnes is a fantastic wedding caterer. She was great about nudging me when we needed to make decisions and get back to her. We may not have been the best customers (since we were pretty not on top of things wedding-planning-related at all), but she made sure we did everything we needed to do to ensure a successful dinner for our guests, even when the weather forced us to change some plans at the last minute.
Also, when the groom cut himself just before the ceremony and bled on his pale blue suit, it was Agnes and the catering staff that ran and put peroxide on the suit before it had the chance to set. Thanks, ladies! i appreciated him not having to go through the ceremony and reception (not to mention the photos) covered in his own blood!

And the food: our guests are still raving about the olives in particular, and everything was great! Agnes worked with us a lot on developing the menu because we have so many food allergies and diets among our family and guests, so it was important to have something for everyone (i.e. vegetarians, gluten-free, dairy-free, paleo). Some standouts included the corn and cod chowder, the potato latkes with smoked salmon, the buttermilk biscuits, and the white bean fagioli.
Also the desserts were spectacular. Agnes suggested we go with a peach and blueberry shortcake to take advantage of them being in season on our wedding, and she complemented that with a fruit salad (for the vegans/gluten free contingent) and an assortment of cupcakes. Eating the salted caramel dark chocolate cupcake was bliss.

I can’t recommend Agnes/the Village Tea Room enough as a caterer for a special event. We are so pleased we chose her! Caroline N.

 

Wedding Cakes

All our cakes are made with sweet cream butter, Feather Ridge Farm Eggs, Nielsen Massey pure vanilla extract, King Arthur unbleached flour from hard spring wheat and Rumford Non-Aluminum Baking Powder. We use Ronny Brook Farm’s old-fashioned cream on the top milk & thick yellow cream.

We can customize any cake to suit your preference

 

 “I wanted to let you know that not only was the cake beautiful but the taste was superb! It was one of the best cakes I’ve ever had and many of the guests asked for seconds (or thirds!). It was moist and delicious with great flavor. I hope more people get to have that particular cake in the future. It was a huge hit. Thanks again!

“I could not resist letting you know what an amazing time we had on Saturday!!!

First your wonderful staff!! So helpful, responsible, warm and reliable!! The guests and Brian and I were always well taken care of. The little detail of them bringing us a plate full of the passed appetizers. The set up and the breakdown was amazing. Even Mary complimented your staff.

Now on to the food!!! Everything was so delicious, we loved everything and so did the guests, We were nervous about people enjoying the food at our wedding while maintaining our beliefs and serving only vegetarian food. So many people came up to us and told us how much they loved the food. The cakes were GORGEOUS and DELICIOUS!!! We even cracked Brian, he loved the Lavender Rose Cake.

Finally you!! Thank you for working with me over the past 10 months. Your energy and tone was always calming and reassuring. You took care of every detail that without you we would have overlooked.

We can go on and on and on, the bottom line is you and your team made our day so special for us! Every time we think of our wedding we will think of The Village Tea Room. Thank you so so very much! See you next time we get a chance to come to the restaurant! We are already craving the Tuscan beans again.
